The Teen Parent Programme is part of mainstream services provided by the HSE Western Region and is based on the Ground Floor, Nurse’s Home., University College Hospital Galway. The TPP provides a supportive service for young parents in Galway City and County who are aged under 20, during pregnancy and for up to two years following.

The overall aim is to empower young parents in their parenting role. The support is provided on an individual basis and covers a range of information and advice on health, welfare entitlements, childcare, accommodation options, family relationships, education and parenting.

The programme encourages young parents to develop any skills or areas of interest and motivates them to become involved in education/ training suited to their needs.
